Verification is how Warka protects citizens from impersonation and protects institutions from misinformation. A verified badge signals that an authorized representative has claimed the listing and provided evidence that meets our criteria. Verification also unlocks stronger capabilities for maintaining and promoting accurate information.
For government offices, verification confirms institutional legitimacy and ownership of the listing. For private businesses, verification confirms business registration details and the right to represent the organization in public communications. In both cases, verification is evidence-based and repeatable – not subjective.
The steps below are designed to be straightforward. If your institution is onboarding in bulk (for example, a regional program), Warka can support a coordinated workflow with a shared evidence package and delegated approval.
After verification, you can manage your listing, publish service steps, upload supporting documents, and respond to citizen-reported corrections through a secure dashboard.
Verification is granted only when evidence demonstrates that the claimant is authorized to represent the listed institution and that the listing details match an official source. We apply clear criteria to reduce confusion and ensure consistent decisions across sectors and regions.
For government offices, evidence typically includes an official letter on institutional letterhead, an authorization memo from the head office, or a verifiable official email domain address. Supporting evidence may include a published website page, official phone directory entries, or a government-issued code and hierarchy reference.
For private businesses, evidence typically includes a valid business license, renewed registration, TIN (and VAT registration where applicable), and proof of contact ownership (for example, a verification SMS to the primary phone line or a domain email confirmation). For businesses with multiple branches, verification can be structured per branch to ensure accuracy of location, hours, and services.
All submitted evidence is handled securely and used only for verification and audit purposes. Warka does not publish sensitive documents publicly; instead, it records the verification outcome and applicable badge.
Badges help users quickly understand the trust status of a listing. Warka uses a badge system that is simple to read while still grounded in evidence and review history.
“Official” is used for government offices and programs that are confirmed through authoritative sources or official partnerships, and where the listing is maintained through verified institutional channels. “Verified” indicates that a listing owner has claimed the profile and passed evidence review. “Pending” indicates that a verification request is in progress. “Community Flagged” indicates that the community has raised credible concerns that are under review or have not yet been resolved.
Badges do not guarantee service availability on a particular day; they indicate trust in the listing’s identity and ownership. Users should still check hours and official announcements, especially during holidays or emergency periods.
Each badge links to a short “Why this badge?” section on the listing, showing the verification date, last update date, and (where appropriate) the type of evidence category used – without exposing sensitive documents.
